Oxfordshire Country House

The origins of this substantial country house can be traced back to the 13th Century, although its appearance today is largely the result of Georgian and Victorian remodelling. Grade II Listed, it sits within its own extensive gardens and parkland on the edge of an Oxfordshire village.

The house has been completely refurbished, stripping away layers of ad hoc alterations accumulated throughout the 20th Century, and rearranging the rambling accommodation. We produced detailed drawings and schedules of information for all bathrooms, new joinery, and the kitchen, as well as specifying all finishes and furnishings.

Working with architects and project managers, specialist lighting and AV consultants, we sought to redefine the house inside and out. The interiors have a timeless quality which is respectful of the long history and modest character of the house, while providing a graceful setting for modern country living.
